Needs vs. Wants Collage

The mom and her boys in 2 Kings 4:1-7 really needed food and money, or they would be in big trouble.

What do you need? How is that different from what you just want and like, but isn’t absolutely necessary?

Today we’re going to make a collage, a collection of pictures, that shows the difference between wants and needs. You could make two columns and put the pictures under the titles of “Needs” and “Wants”, or you can make it as creative as you would like, as long as it shows the difference between needs and wants.

If you have old magazines or flyers at home, you could cut pictures out and glue them into your “Needs” and “Wants” sections, or you could create a document on your computer and get pictures from Google Images and paste them into the sections on your document.

Somewhere on your page, write or type the verse, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 Then memorize the verse and the reference so you will never forget it!

When you’re done, take a picture of your collage and send it to us at kidsministry@tcaconline.org, and we will upload the photos at the bottom of this page. If you’re not from TCAC, tell us where you’re from. We’re glad to have you here with us!

God gives us what we need!
